THE ORIGINS OF POG
Back in the 1930s, on the island of Hawaii, kids invented the pog game! In those days, as everywhere else in America, pog drink caps were delivered in milk bottles at people’s doors. Hawaii’s kids had the idea of upcycling their milk caps by collecting them and inventing a caps game. They would remove the cardboard discs printed in the dairy's colors from the milk caps. First to collect milk caps, then to play milk caps game. The game play was exactly the same. Throwing the metal milk caps as a milk caps pog slammers onto the staked cardboard discs to win them.
